Book orders are mailed out at least twice a week, usually on Mondays and Thursdays. If you need something urgently, send an email to get a quote for courier pricing. Shipping fees are calculated automatically; you will see the total amount in your cart before you pay. All books are sent with tracking and insurance.

Printed books shipped to the UK and the USA are happily exempt from taxes, and orders to some EU countries are delivered duty paid (DDP). See below for a list.

Otherwise, you are responsible for any import fees, duties, and taxes upon arrival.

You will find shipping fees listed below. As the late Ian Jackson noted, bibliophiles must resign themselves to il mondo al rovescio — a world turned upside down, where postage may cost more than the book itself.

If you find the rate too high, consider downloading the e-book edition instead.

Books to these countries are delivered duty paid (DDP), so no extra VAT is due on arrival.

Rest of the World

Returns and Refunds

No returns. All sales are final. If a print book goes missing or is damaged in transit, we will send you another copy or issue a refund, but we are a small operation and unable to deal with returns (especially not bulk returns from bookstores). There is a link on each title’s page that you can use to read a preview, so please try before you buy; just look for the manicule ☞ and click to see sample pages from the book.

Since we ship all print books with both tracking and insurance, the danger of loss in transit is low. Porch pirates, however, are becoming a real problem — you should choose a safe delivery location. We will ship to post office boxes.

Wholesale Orders

The publisher is pleased to offer bookstores, galleries, and museum shops a 30% discount on a minimum order of 20 units (these need not be all of the same title).

All orders are prepaid and non-returnable. Buyer pays for shipping. You will receive an electronic invoice for the full amount, and payments may be made in almost any currency by PayPal, credit card, or bank transfer (via IBAN).
